New York Veterans Treatment Court – For DWI Cases

In certain counties across New York State prosecutors have established veterans treatment court programs to divert veterans who have been arrested for non-violent offenses including DWI charges for treatment in lieu of the traditional trial and punishment.

The program requires the veterans to get mental health or addiction counseling, find jobs, stay clean and sober and get their lives back on track.

The criminal case is reviewed every month to monitor the progress to make certain that all appointments and obligations are being met by the veteran and that the judge is kept updated on the progress of each case.

The cases tend to remain in treatment court a year or more before making enough progress to graduate and see their charges reduced or dismissed.

If you are a veteran and have been arrested or charged with a DWI in New York, call the Attorneys with at 1 800 879 6410 for an analysis of your case. We will provide experienced and personal attention to you and your case.
